What you'll learn

This course moves you from Claude Chat user to someone who can build tools and automate real work — all without writing a line of code yourself. You direct in plain English. Claude does the technical work.

It is practical and hands-on, built around a real data project that runs across both sessions. You leave with working outputs, not slide decks about AI.

  • Build a working data analysis tool and interactive dashboard using Claude Code
  • Produce branded, polished deliverables — decks, docs, emails — with Claude Cowork
  • Edit presentations directly inside PowerPoint using the Claude add-in
  • Build reusable Skills that match your voice, your brand, and your workflows
  • Connect Claude to live data sources and business tools via MCP
  • Set up a scheduled market performance dashboard that runs automatically
  • Know the difference between Code, Cowork and Chat — and when to use each

Who it's for

Professionals who already use Claude Chat and want to go further. No developer skills required — just ambition.

Senior leaders and managers
You want to delegate more to AI and produce executive-quality deliverables faster. This course shows you how to brief Claude like a skilled employee.
AI-integration leads
You're responsible for how your organisation adopts AI. This course gives you hands-on fluency with Claude's most powerful capabilities so you can lead implementation from a position of knowledge.
Professionals in the built environment
Engineers, architects, quantity surveyors and construction leaders who want to move from one-off prompts to repeatable, scalable AI workflows inside their existing tools and data.

Course structure

A single project — dummy Q3/Q4 sales data — runs through both sessions. Session 1 builds the technical tool. Session 2 produces the work you'd actually send to people.

Pre-course · 45 min
Tech check

One week before the first session. You arrive on Day 1 ready to build — not troubleshooting logins. We confirm your Claude plan, install the desktop app, verify all three tabs (Chat, Cowork, Code), install the Claude for PowerPoint add-in, cover tokens and pricing, and download your dummy data set.

Session 1 · 2 hours
Build the thing — Claude Code

You get straight into Claude Code and build a layered project from scratch: first a sales data analysis tool with anomaly detection, then a working interactive HTML dashboard. Concepts are taught by doing, not by watching slides.

Session 2 · 2 hours

Produce the work — Claude Cowork

Same data, different mode. Cowork produces the deliverables you'd actually send to people: branded PowerPoint decks, Word docs, email drafts. You build a custom Skill, connect your real business tools, and set up a market performance dashboard that runs automatically.

10 min
Bridge from Code to Cowork
Reframe: Code builds tools, Cowork produces work. In Code you direct a builder. In Cowork you brief an employee.

Bonus Session
Bonus hackathon
Included in price
One week after the course, bring your own projects and we'll help turn them into simple, repeatable workflows. Fix and improve your workflows, turn recurring chores into templates, and see how colleagues in different roles are working. You'll leave with one task fully set up and a library of your own prompts — tailored to the way you and your team actually work.

What They're Saying...

Go further with the AI Institute
Our team builds automations. Your team runs them.
Agent Build
This course is where it starts, not where it ends. For those who are ready to go further, the AI Institute works directly with estate agency teams to build automations  - listing workflows, tenant screening pipelines, client communication sequences  - and hands them back through targeted training so your team can run and maintain them without depending on outside support.

About the instructor

James Cussen
Claude Code + Cowork specialist

James has built a deep practical fluency with Claude's agentic capabilities — not in a lab, but solving real business problems. He specialises in helping non-technical professionals get the most out of Claude Code and Cowork: building tools, automating workflows, and producing outputs that would normally require a developer. He brings clarity to complex topics and a relentless focus on what's actually useful at work.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need any coding experience?
None at all. Claude writes the code. You direct it in plain English. The course is specifically designed for senior professionals who want powerful capabilities without needing a technical background.
Which Claude plan do I need?
You need Claude Pro, Team, or Max. We recommend Max (€100/month) for heavy use during the sessions — both Code and Cowork burn through tokens quickly. We cover this in the tech check so you arrive prepared.
How is this different from Anthropic's free course?
Anthropic offers a self-paced online course (anthropic.skilljar.com/claude-code-in-action). Our edge is live facilitation, an executive-level audience, and the addition of Cowork alongside Code — giving you the full picture of how both tools work together in practice.
What if I use Microsoft 365?
We cover M365 integration during the course. The official Microsoft connector requires a Team or Enterprise Claude plan plus IT admin approval. We'll flag this in the tech check and have a Zapier-based fallback that works without IT involvement.
Will sessions be recorded?
Yes. All live sessions are recorded and available to access for 90 days after the course finishes, so you can revisit any section at your own pace.
What do I need to bring to Session 2?
Four things: your own data analysed with Claude Code and insights ready to share; 10–20 sent work emails saved to a folder (for voice capture); your company branding assets — logos, colour codes, fonts; and the Claude for PowerPoint add-in installed. All covered in the homework brief after Session 1.
