- Use AI confidently without creating data, privacy, or quality risks
You will move from beginner to confident practitioner, bypassing the jargon and hype in favour of practical, everyday skills.
Course Structure
Each session builds on the last, moving from safe setup through applied skills, to real-world use.
Week 1:
Setup
This session ensures you are set up correctly, confidently, and safely before applying AI to real work. It includes a 30 minute Tech Check to ensure you have the tool(s) you need.
You will learn:
- Structured prompting for reliable, high-quality outputs
- How to personalise AI tools
- Core principles of data privacy, confidentiality, and responsible use
By the end of this session, you are enabled, informed, and using AI safely and correctly.
Week 2:
Apply
This session focuses on real output and behaviour change. It is structured around two core skill modules where AI can help you.
Productivity and analysis
Learn how to use AI to get better results faster, save your energy for the work that matters and make your daily tasks feel effortless.
You will learn:
- Chain prompting to move from outlines to finished work
- Meta prompting to fix weak or inconsistent outputs
- Agent Mode prompting for complex tasks
- AI for meeting notes, summaries, and action extraction
Research and reporting
Most jobs involve a lot of time-consuming research and reporting; learn how to use AI to do the heavy lifting and support better decisions.
You will learn how to:
- Carry out robust desk research quickly and easily
- Analyse existing content such as reports and slide decks
- Gather, analyse, and synthesise data into clear insights
- Develop draft slide decks from a single prompt
You are encouraged to work with your own notes, research, or data to ensure relevance to real work.
Week 3:
Accelerate
This session is a further focus on real output and behaviour change. It is structured around two core skill modules enabling you to build on your new skills.
Tasks and workflows
Beyond just chatting, AI can act as a digital assistant that handles multi-step tasks for you; learn how to set up simple workflows that turn a single idea into a finished piece of work. Introducing agents.
You will learn:
- How agents support repeatable tasks and multi-step workflows
- How agents can act as lightweight knowledge bases
- How to build and use simple agents without technical complexity
- How to apply agents across your workflows
The focus is on reducing repetition and mental overhead, not automation for its own sake.
Vision and voice
Learn how to use AI wherever work happens, without breaking flow.
You will learn how to:
- Use AI mobile apps effectively
- Use voice prompts to prepare for meetings or capture ideas on the move
- Use images as inputs to extract, interpret, or summarise information
- Create and edit images and video
AI applied to real working patterns, not idealised ones.
Week 4: Bonus Hackathon (2 Aug)
This session consolidates learning and turns skills into confident, repeatable practice. It is highly interactive and participant led. The focus is on applying what you have already learned to real work scenarios. No new tools are introduced. It's all about sharing.
During the session, you will:
- Polish your current work by applying AI to the tasks on your desk right now
- Give better instructions so you get exactly what you need from the AI the first time
- Spot the "quick wins" where AI can save you the most time for the least effort
- Learn from your peers by seeing how people in different roles are using these tools.
By the end of the Hackathon, you’ll leave with:
- At least one high-value use case ready to apply immediately
- Improved prompts, tools and workflows tailored to your work
Greater confidence using AI independently beyond the course
