AI Institute and IPAV continue their collaboration on AI training for estate agents

Dublin, 30 October 2026. AI training for estate agents returns in January 2027, delivered by the AI Institute in collaboration with the Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Valuers (IPAV). The programme follows cohorts already run during 2026 and is built around the work of Irish auctioneers and valuers: listings, comparables, market briefings, client correspondence and the administration that surrounds an instruction.

The January cohort runs over four weeks from 18 January 2027. The AI Institute intends to keep the programme on a recurring footing, with quarterly cohorts where demand supports it, so agencies can plan around their own selling season rather than around a single date in the calendar.

Why AI training for estate agents has to be built on property work

Most agents are at the start of their AI adoption. They know the tools exist, many have tried them, and far fewer are using them systematically. Generic training does little to change that, because it answers the wrong questions. 'Where do I start' and 'what is it safe to use this for' are the questions of someone handed a tool with no context.

This programme supplies the context. Every prompt, task, scenario and document comes from real property work, which is what moves an agent from occasional use to a method they repeat on Monday morning.

IPAV represents auctioneers, valuers and estate agents in Ireland and runs its own learning centre and continuing professional development programme. Its members also operate under the licensing regime of the Property Services Regulatory Authority, Ireland's statutory regulator for property services providers, which is part of the reason the course treats client data handling as a first-session subject rather than an afterthought.

What the AI training for estate agents covers

Four sessions across four weeks, eight hours of live online teaching, delivered between 12pm and 2pm. Each session follows the same pattern: focused teaching, then hands-on tasks, then group share-back. Participants spend most of each session working rather than watching.

Safe setup. Getting properly configured across ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot or Gemini, with the right privacy posture for client-facing work, and a clear line on what can and cannot go into an AI tool.

Listings and content. Producing listing copy from one property brief and repurposing it across portals, social channels and email in a single pass, rather than rewriting it four times.

Research and comparables. Using deep research tools to produce comparable reports from a specific address and pitch-ready market briefings.

Knowledge bases and agents. Building a searchable base from the agency's own documents so the AI works from those sources, and creating agents that draft and respond to client communications at scale.

Session structure of the AI training for estate agents

Session one covers setup, safety and first prompts, including where obligations under the EU AI Act can arise in screening and client decisions, and how structured prompting turns a vague ask into output an agent would send to a client.

Session two covers research and market intelligence: comparable reports from an address, analysis of applications, and turning inspection reports into landlord action emails. Every task uses real or synthesised property data and runs inside the session rather than as homework.

Session three covers workflows, content and knowledge bases, including a content engine that takes one property brief and produces listings for the major portals, social posts and email together.

Session four has no new teaching. Participants bring one real task from their current workload and finish it with facilitator support, with peer learning across residential sales, lettings and commercial.

Who the AI training for estate agents is for

Estate agents at any stage, from those who have never used an AI tool to those moving from occasional use to systematic application. Complete beginners are welcome and no technical background is assumed.

The course is tool-agnostic. Participants need access to one of Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini or Perplexity. A certificate of completion is issued, and recordings stay available for 60 days.

What the AI training for estate agents does not do

It does not move professional judgement. A drafted listing, a comparable report and a client email are starting points that an agent reviews and stands over. Valuation advice and instruction decisions stay with the licensed professional.

It does not ask anyone to hand over client records. Data handling rules are agreed in the first session, and the exercises run on real or synthesised property data chosen for the purpose. Agencies working through their own obligations may find the AI Institute's guidance on data protection impact assessments for AI tools a useful starting point.

It does not promise a result without practice. The pattern holds across every sector the AI Institute works in: the training is the start, and the behaviour afterwards is what produces the return. Firms weighing up providers can read the Institute's own account of how to choose an AI training provider.
